Life at 40+

40: A Painful Ending, A New Beginning

Hello. My name is Kimberly. I am 40 years old, never married, no children, and I am having A TIME navigating this midlife journey so far. I started this blog as a means to document and process all the big feelings I am currently having.

I should probably mention that my twin brother passed away unexpectedly about a month ago. This was the catalyst for starting this blog and will definitely be a major part of my story here, but I want to share other parts of me as well.

I love pop culture. I love traveling. I can’t remember ever not being depressed. I want to train for the next five years to go on Survivor. I’ve worked my way up from only being able to do the Monday NYT crossword to being able to do the Monday-Wednesday puzzles. I’m addicted to my phone and Diet Coke. If I could win any award, I’d want it to be the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

I will be writing about all of these things, probably. And everything in between.

Whether you’re navigating midlife yourself or just curious about the journey, I hope you’ll find comfort and connection here. I want this to talk openly about life’s realities—without filters and apologies. And I am fine talking just to myself, but I also hope you’ll speak up if something resonates.
